YOUNG BUSINESS LEADER 2023

Young Business Leader - B-LEAD 2023 is a Business Competition on Leadership Development, organized by Business & English Club - BEC in collaboration with the Foreign Trade University at HCMC Campus.

Deeply understanding students’ concerns in competitive job market, B-LEAD owns a Mission: augmenting the youth with a valuable playground to enhance the “LEAD”ership in the “B”usiness-like environment. Building on the BEC’S 18-year journey of value, B-LEAD is expected to foster the determination of young business leaders who proactively strive to take the lead in the fiercely competitive market.

Equipping students with Leadership skill based on A.S.K model in alignment with business standards to become outstanding in the competitive job market and business-like environment.

About This Season:

SEAFARERS' HUNT: LEADER-SHIP

In the harshly competitive job market, students inevitably encounter challenges to gain a competitive advantage for themselves. And B-LEAD 2023 will be a journey to help students reach an advantage called Leadership Skill. Students are sailors – entering the Grand Line, leading themselves and the boat against all the tempest like becoming young leaders in business, proactively taking the lead in the competitive market.

The competition includes 3 rounds:

Round 1: Into The Grand Line

Round 2: Against The Tempest

Round 3: "Magister Navis"

CORE VALUE FOR AUDIENCES

Experience a training series according to a scientific model to ensure comprehensive leadership development based on the A.S.K model.

Participants can gain valuable insights, practical advice, and actionable strategies from candidates' performances and apply in their own endeavors.

KNOWLEDGE

The Grand Finale includes an engaging activity for participants. This is a chance for participants to influence the final outcomes of B-LEAD.

ENGAGEMENT

Participants can connect with like-minded individuals, meet leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs -> new partnerships, mentorship, and potential business opportunities.

NETWORKING

Eligibility

University students living and working in Vietnam graduated from universities and colleges within 6 months from the date of registration.
The individual is not a member of the Organizing Board of the contest.

TIMELINE

Format: Online

1.1. Application form & CV + Online multiple-choice tests (18/4 - 13/5)

- Candidates fill out the Application form and attach their CVs.

- After completing the registration form and CV, candidates will take an Online Test in English.

1.2. Initial Interview (20/05 - 22/05)

Top 100 candidates passing round 1.1 participate in Initial Interview 1-1 (Online).

2.1 Training Sessions (24/05 - 03/06): Training sessions on 3 important skills according to a scientific model: Cognitive Skills, Interpersonal Skills and Leadership Skills.

2.2 Assessment Center (04/06):

> Business Case:

Each of the two teams will be given a Business Case to solve and propose a solution.
In turn, two teams carry out presentations on their answer to the Business Case.
Q&A session with the Judges and between teams under the supervision of the Assessors.

> Scavenger Hunt:

Candidates complete a list of business-related tasks and make a presentation.
Two teams take turns presenting their results. Judges will Q&A and give feedback to each team.

> In-depth Interview: Each candidate will participate in an in-depth interview with an Interviewer for a period of 30 minutes.

2.3 Career Glory Night (04/06):

A precious chance for guests and candidates to connect with each other and participate in discussions as well as present their views on a topic.
Tea break and music performance.

3.1 Exclusive Training (05/06 - 17/06): Training on Leadership.

3.2 Grand Finale (18/06):

> Business case: Presentation & Pitching

Top 8 contestants were randomly divided into 2 teams before the Grand Finale and were assigned a Business Case.
At Grand Finale, each team will present their proposed Business Solution and participate in pitching with the other team.
QnA & feedback from the Judges for each team.

> Simulated Meeting

Top 8 participate in an English simulated meeting to come up with a solution for a Business problem.

> Debate

Top 3 participate in a debate on a business statement/issue in English.
