Business & English Club (BEC), established in August 2005, is one of the most long-standing and professional clubs at Foreign Trade University HCMC Campus. BEC aims to provide undergraduates in Ho Chi Minh City with a dynamic playground that helps them become more confident with all of their honed skills during their studying time at university. In parallel with that, students can stand a chance of enriching their knowledge in both Business and English.

BEC'S JOURNEY
Business & English Club (BEC), established in August 2005, is one of the most long-standing and professional clubs at Foreign Trade University HCMC Campus. We strive to become a professional and passionate organization for the young to become a Great Leading Generation. BEC concentrates on human development by arming the young with competitive advantages in the “Challenge Your Limits” spirit, ultimately for them to be key players and make a great impact on society.
BEC was first established in 2005 by a group of English lovers. In 2010, it was renamed to “Business & English Club” with the intention of broadening the club to both Business and English fields.
Foundation
BEC organized the first TEDx event in HCMC in 2012. The brand new project reformed BEC’s positioning and reputation among other clubs at that time. During 2010 - 2013, BEC was perfecting its operating structure to reinforce its positioning and stable development.
Positioning
BEC had breakthrough development since we proved the successful innovation and upgrade of previous TEDx events. Besides, not only mind-blowing TEDx events were organized during this phase but BEC also marked an impressive growth with many other external projects that brought true values to audiences across HCMC, such as E-Biz Arena, The IELTS Workshop, etc.
Breakthrough
Since 2017, we continued to pursue our mission of “Human development” with innovative changes to professionalize our operating structure. BEC first applied the cross - function feature to the club, which provides more chances for members’ experience and development. Our Code Of Conduct was also successfully built, which was then proved to be professional and applicable by big companies. These new features along with the human tracking system, has marked BEC’s evolution on its way to fulfill its mission since 2017 up to now.

Our departments
With the mission of improving the financial aspect, communication, and professional competence of BEC, the External Affairs Department has consistently upgraded the collaboration process and enhanced EAers based on the ASK model. We provide solutions for collaboration problems and engage in the tracking process to ensure professional and high-quality service when working with third parties.

HR was born with the mission of developing the comprehensive human capital in terms of Attitude, Skills, and Knowledge by effective Society of Human Resource Management. Since BEC is about its people, the role that HR Department plays is substantially important. To perform this mission successfully, HRers are powerful owners of many fascinating projects.

Project Development
With the ultimate goal is the contribution to BEC's project management improvement, PD department fulfill their mission by proposing optimal business solutions to BEC's projects and facilitating BECers' development in term of business knowledge. To accomplish this, PD team members extensively engage in researching and analyzing numerous processes and systems, as well as innovatively devising methods to efficiently impart business knowledge.
Communications Department
With the mission of delivering BEC's values and BEC's brand image to the young community, the Communications Department has consistently exerted significant efforts in communicating the values in BEC's product offerings through various branding platforms. Communications Department is responsible for maintaining coherence across all of these platforms, which serve as the foundation for nurturing the essential competencies – including attitude, skills, and knowledge.
